County Senior Cross Country.

Sunday 17th of December the County Senior XC was held in Deansgrove, Cashel. Dundrum AC played host of the final XC event of 2023. We had 5 athletes representing the club on the day. Underfoot conditions were very challenging but credit to Orla Healy, Louise Fogarty, Sharon Cantwell, Brian Carroll and Pakie Bowe who competed. The girls had success where they finished in the bronze position in the team event. Orla had a brilliant run to finish in an excellent 6th place. She was followed by Louise in 8th and Sharon in 11th. Brian and Pakie also ran well, considering the road racing as of late in particular Brian after the Marathon and both finished in 36th and 37th place respectively.

Well done to all our athletes throughout the 2023 XC season, each of you have done both yourselves and club proud! We look forward to continued success into 2024. The County Masters XC will take place in January.

Christmas Morning Mile – takes place from 10:30am – 12 noon. This annual tradition is a great opportunity for friends and family to get together for some exercise Christmas morning all in aid of a two very good causes. This year the club are collecting donations for Blood Bike Mid West and Moyne Templetuohy Parish Newsletter group.

Blood Bike Mid West is an all-volunteer charitable 24 -7 emergency transport service who have been transporting laboratory samples, breastmilk, drugs and much more to, from and between acute hospitals in Limerick, Clare and Tipperary since 2013 and currently has a team of over 40 volunteer riders, operating in the region.

Our parish newsletter group reached out looking for our support in helping them raise much-needed funds to keep the annual newsletter alive. With the current climate, the cost of producing this much loved and appreciated publication is becoming increasingly difficult.

Your support in assisting both these causes on Christmas morning is welcomed. So why not come down to Moyne AC and walk, jog, crawl or run a mile and relish that feel-good factor! A donation bucket will be in the clubhouse for anyone to pop by to say hello. We thank you in advance for your generosity.

Lights on! – Reminder, the club will have lights for the winter months on Tuesdays (5:30pm – 6:30pm) and Thursdays (6:30pm – 7:30pm) for patrons to use the facility to exercise in a safe place. All are welcome to come to the track and we just gently reminder users to put €2 in the honesty box when they visit the track. Unfortunately, no dogs are permitted on the grounds.
