Four of our athletes travelled to Dublin to compete in the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon and in a field of approximately 20,000 athletes they all richly deserve the congratulations heaped on them in the aftermath of the event. Brian Carroll was the first of our member’s home having clocked 44.36 for 10k and 1.34.07 for half way to cross the line in a new personal best of 3.22.22. Deirdre Kearney was next across the line having completed the 10k in 60mins, the half in 2.05.31 to finish in 4.20.54. Frances Long and Breda McNamara virtually crossed the line together in 4.37.00 and 4.37.59. Respectively they did 60.31 and 63.41 for the 10k and 2.05.32 and 2.13.35 for the half. Great running from all four athletes and they can certainly be proud of their achievements in Dublin.
