County Intermediate Road Championships: 5 of our senior athletes travelled to Dundrum on Sunday last for the County Intermediate Road Championships. First off was the Ladies 4k , Lisa Quinlan followed up on her good form from the previous Sunday putting in a fantastic effort and was first home for the Club finishing 6th overall in 16.49, next home was Edel Hickey who is just back on the competition scene after a lengthy lay off – Edel although not back to her best yet had a great run finishing 9th in 18.08, Liz Power was next to cross the line after a great run she finished 21st in 19.54, the girls combined to finish 4th team overall just missing out on 3rd by 2 points – well done girls on great performances all round. The Men were next to face the start line for their 8k run – Liam Kelly once again proved what a great athlete he is when he produced another fantastic display of running following on from the previous Sunday and finished 11th overall in 28.56 – well done Liam on another great run. Ray Power also put in a great effort finishing 39th in 36.20 – well done guys.

Training: Training resumes for all athletes after the Easter break on Friday next April 13th at 8pm.

Burma Challenge: The 9th annual Burma Challenge will commence on Wednesday May 2nd at 7.30pm and continue for four weeks finishing on Friday May 25th. This is a fun event open to walkers, joggers and runners over the age of 15 for a small fee of €10, so mark the dates in your diary and come along to Moyne sportsfield and join in the fun whilst getting a bit of fresh air and exercise.

Clubs Challenge: Our annual Track & Field Challenge between Moycarkey Coolcroo AC, Slieveardagh AC and Moyne AC will take place at Moyne Sportsfield on Saturday April 21st at 2pm. We encourage all our athletes to participate and there will be events for U7’s to U17’s.

Club Meeting: The next meeting of Club Officers and Committee members has been scheduled for Wednesday April 18th at 8.45pm, your attendance would be much appreciated.

Mini Marathon: Our 3rd annual Mini Marathon will take place on Monday, June 4th at 3pm from Moyne Sportsfield, this event is open to both male and female participants with money prizes for the first 3 Men and Women home. More details of event to follow shortly.

Meet & Train Sessions:  Meet and train sessions continue every Wednesday evening at 7pm for ladies and 7.30pm for men. All are welcome.

Upcoming Fixtures:   Saturday April 21st – Clubs Challenge in Moyne at 2pm. Sunday April 22nd – County Senior Road Championship – Two Mile Borris at 12noon.  Sunday April 29th – County Juvenile U9 – U12 T&F in Templemore.  Sunday May 6th & Sunday May 20th – County U13 – Junior T&F in Templemore.
