🏃‍♀️ National Indoor League R.2
📍Athlone International Arena
Katie Bergin got her indoor season off to a flying start in Athlone on Sunday at Round Two of the National Indoor T&F League. Setting a new PB in the 60m 7.63s. Katie returned to the track thirty minutes later in Series Two of 60m and recorded the exact same time of 7.63s, finishing third overall to National champion of ’23 Sarah Leahy Killarney Valley. Later in the evening it was the 200m another indoor PB performance 24.47s to take the win.
Next weekend Katie will return to Athlone for the National U/23 Indoor T&F Championship Finals, she will contest both 60m and 200m and has to defend both her titles won in 2023. Three hundreds of a second separates the first three in the 60m, so it promises to be a fiercely contested event, but no doubt will relish the challenge. Heats will be the order of the day in the 200m also, 60m heats get under way at 10am.
Congrats to Katie on a great opening weekend of her 2024 season.
