Limerick Racecourse was the venue on Sunday last for the Munster Juvenile Even Age Cross Country Championships. 27 of our athletes competed in very wet and windy conditions with two of our athletes winning Individual Munster medals. They were Philip Hayes who put in a great performance to finish 11th in the U10 Boys 1000m race and Philip was the 2nd member of the Tipperary bronze medal winners. Roisin Daly also put in a superb performance finishing 11th in the Girls U14 3000m race and Roisin was the 3rd member of the Tipperary bronze medal winners, well done to you both on such fine performances and good luck to Roisin who will represent Munster in the National Finals in Santry Demesne, Dublin on November 17th. Our team medal winners were Rachel Butler who finished 15th in the Girls U12 2000m race finishing in 2nd place for Tipperary team winning a bronze medal and Jack Hickey who finished 28th in the Boys U14 3000m race finishing in 5th place for Tipperary team winning a bronze medal. Both Rachel & Jack will represent Tipperary in the National Finals. Our first athletes to compete were the Girls U10 with Rachel Cleary finishing 24th, Aoife Dwyer 37th, Louise Hickey 62nd and Helen Cleere 74th. Boys U10 Philip Hayes 11th, Aaron McLaughlin 46th, Jake Bowe 49th and Adam Butler 60th. In the Girls U12 race Rachel Butler 15th, Katie Bergin 84th, Ellen Moore 97th and Aisling Dwyer 98th. In the Boys U12, Charlie Tobin 34th, Ciaran Lloyd 48th & Dylan McLaughlin 72nd. Girls U14 Roisin Daly 11th. Boys U14 Jack Hickey 28th, Brian Maher 48th, Bill Hogan 65th, Niall Moore 75th, Nathan Bowe 82nd & Lorcan Troy 84th. Boys U16 Harry Hogan 33rd, Eoin Troy 44th, Aidan Ryan 47th & Jack Moore 49th. Girls U18 Orla Healy finished 18th. Well done to all athletes on putting in great performances.
In the Ladies Novice 4K race also held in Limerick Racecourse on last Sunday, Edel Leahy finished 39th, Frances Long 46th, Patricia Ryan 59th & Breda McNamara 60th – finishing 9th club home. Well done Ladies.
