The Munster Juvenile Even Age races took place in the Turnpike, Two Mile Borris on Sunday 24th October. 21 juveniles represented Moyne AC on the day, each one of them completing their race with great determination among tough competition at Munster level with Olive Spillane-Leane winning a Munster bronze medal as part of the Tipperary U/12 County team.

U10s got the day under way with both the girls and boys running 1,000m. Faye Murphy was the first girl home for Moyne finishing 100th, followed by Abbie Manton 107th, Doireann Quinlan 109th, Poppy Lyons 114th and Caoimhe Doyle 116th. Bill O’Neill led the Moyne boys’ home in 49th place, followed by Dylan Delahunty 70th, Senan Phelan 72nd, Fionn Phelan 99th and Dannan Sweeney 111th.

U12 girls ran 2,000m and were represented by Olive Spillane Leane who finished 47th, Ciara Joyce 75th, Molly Jones 83rd, Ailis Concagh 97th and Maria Doyle 116th. As already mentioned, Olive was a member of the Tipperary team that won bronze. The boys also running 2,000m with Noah Murphy crossing the line in 96th place, Aidan Evans 102nd and David Nolan 106th.

Alana Spillane and Aisling O’Reilly ran 3.000m in the U14 race. Alana came home 38th and Aisling was 46th. Both girls were on the Tipperary team that finished in 5th place on the day.

Adam Phelan was the sole club athlete running in the boys U16 4,000m, he finished in 53rd place.

Our thanks to all parents and club members who supported the athletes, in what was for some of these young athletes, their very first competitive championships at this level and as already said gave it their all in very competitive races.
