Templemore was again the venue on Sunday for the staging of the Munster Junior, U/23, Senior and Masters’ Track & Field Championships where thirteen athletes represented the club in the various competitions.  Provisional results are to hand with the athletes bringing home nine Munster individual medals and one set of relay medals.  Dylan McLoughlin won the Junior 1,500mts while Brigid Gleeson finished second in the O/45 800mts.  Sharon Cantwell, Liz Power and Katie Bergin also collected silver medals in the senior 1,500mts, O/55 100mts and 200mts and Junior 100mts and 200mts respectively and a third place went to Ray Power in the O/55 400mts.  To cap a fine day for the club the Master Ladies O/35 relay team finished third in their event with Ber Spillane, Brigid Gleeson, Michelle Percy and Liz Power the quartet.  Other good results came from Aisling Dwyer, Aisling Maher, Lorraine Healy and Ber Spillane while the Junior Ladies Relay team were unfortunate in their event as Rachel Butler, Katie Bergin, Aisling Dwyer and Jessie Newman failed to get the baton around the track.  While bitterly disappointed they will have another chance of glory next week as they compete in the U/18 competition in Castleisland.  A further update of the results will be forthcoming once official results are posted.
