Over 500 people of all ages turned out in Moyne on Sunday last February 3rd for a 5km Run/Walk/Jog in aid of Crumlin Hospital. This fundraiser was organised by Mary Doherty and a committee which had been formed just a month ago; the turnout was far above the organisers expectations and what a wonderful sight it was to see over 500 people commence their 5km route from the gates of Moyne Sportsfield in aid of a very worthy cause. The organisers must be complimented on their publicising of the event as it attracted people from not just all over Tipperary but from many other counties as well. On behalf of the committee we wish to say a huge thank you to all those who took part and made such generous donations, also to John Flynn and all at Moyne AC for their help in advance of the race and of course on the day; to all those who donated food and confectionary for the post race refreshments, to all the sponsors of the event and to anyone who helped in any way on the day or the month leading up to the race – your help was much appreciated and did not go unnoticed. All monies raised will be presented to Crumlin Childrens Hospital in the near future.
