Over 160 young pupils from Moyne, Templetuohy, Rahealty, Galmoy and Urlingford travelled to the Sportsfield on Friday last to take part in the club’s second running of the inter-schools track and field challenge. The weather held up for the duration of the event which covered pupils from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class who competed in sprints, middle distance, ball-throw and long jump and though there was a competitive edge to the event everyone enjoyed themselves and were a true credit to their schools. The winner in the large school category was Urlingford with Galmoy taking the small schools trophy for the second year running. It was great to see that all five schools produced winners on the day with some pupils excelling by winning their three events whilst others were dual winners. However, everyone who took part is a winner in our eyes.
