Twenty-three of our juvenile athletes travelled to Nenagh on Sunday last for the County Indoor Championship. The club brought home a total of 11 individual and 4 sets of relay medals. Amongst the medals was one county individual title that was won by Rachel Butler who ran a great race and came first in the U/12 600m race. In the girls U/9 Silver 60m final Anna Daly came 1st and in the boys U/9 Silver 60m final Daniel Moore finished 3rd. In the boys U/10 300m race Philip Hayes finished 2nd and Philip also finished 2nd in the long jump with a jump of 3.43. In the girls U/11 Silver 60m final Aisling Hickey finished in 1st place. In the U/12 girls 60m final Rachel Butler finished 2nd and in the U/12 600m final Rachel Butler finished 1st with a time of 2.00.9. Ellen Moore came 3rd in the high jump with a jump of 1.14 and Rachel Butler came 3rd in the shot with a throw of 5.58. In the boys U/12 600m Charlie Tobin finished 3rd with a time of 1.59.69. In the U/12 boys shot Robert Gleeson came 3rd with a throw of 5.76. In the U/9 girls relay of Tara Gleeson, Anna Daly, Louise Hickey & Helen Cleere put in a great performance to finish 3rd. The U/9 boys relay also put in a great performance finishing in 2nd place the team was Aaron McLaughlin, Conor Gleeson, David Doyle and Jake Bowe. The U/12 girls of Ellen Moore, Cathy Hogan, Rachel Butler and Aisling Dwyer also put in a great performance to finish 2nd in their relay race. The U/12 boys relay team of Charlie Tobin, Ciaran Lloyd, Robert Gleeson & Dylan McLaughlin also came home with a relay medal finishing 3rd. Other athletes to perform on the day were Rachel Cleery, Aoife Dwyer, Ryan Egan, Emma Gleeson.
