These championships took place on Sunday 13th June in Templemore. The sun shone brightly and Moyne AC had a very successful first day back on the track following a long break from competition due to Covid, coming home with a total of 15 medals!

In the girls u12 600m Olive Spillane Leane was 6th (2.08.96), Ciara Joyce 9th(2.13.25), Arlene Flanagan 11th (2.16.71), Saoirse Deegan 13th (2.20.54) and Róisín O’Reilly 15th (2.25.69). In the same distance for the boys Aidan Evans was 9th (2.16.87) followed by Jack Renehan in 10th (2.19.83).  Competing in the boys 60m sprint were Seán Wall (10.52), Darragh Cleere (10.81) and Dáithí Cussen (11.34). Seán and Darragh ran in the final finishing in 7th and 8th position. Five girls took part in the long jump with Ciara Joyce finishing just outside the medals in 4th place (3.64), Olive Spillane Leane was 5th (3.54), Maria Doyle 6th (3.26), Arlene Flanagan 10th (2.99) and Róisín O’Reilly 11th (2.82). In the boys’ long jump Aidan Evans was also just outside the medals in 4th place 3.15), Jack Renehan 5th (3.14) and Dáithí Cussen 6th (2.67). Maria Doyle finished 2nd in the shot put competition with a throw of 5.76mts.

Jack Deegan was Moyne’s sole competitor in the u13 boys competition. He finished 7th in the 80m sprint (12.56) and 7th in the long jump (3.31). In the girls u13 600m Aisling O’Reilly was 5th (2.07.2), Ruth Phelan 8th (2.16.63) and Réiltín Morrissey 9th (2.16.99). Ruth Phelan was 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 3.23 and Aisling was just outside the medals finishing 4th (3.06). Réiltín Morrissey finished 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 6.20mts.

Bill Cussen competed in the u14 80m sprint finishing 4th (13,43) and he finished 2nd (2.23) in the long jump. Róisín Wall was 3rd (12.66)and Niamh Cleere 4th (12.93) in the girls 80m sprint. Four girls competed in the u14 800m with Alana Spillane, following a very strategic race, coming home in 1st place in 2.36.87), with Dearbhla Gleeson 6th (2.56.97), Emma Delaney 8th (3.08.83) and Kate Delaney 9th (3.12.96). Alana also finished 1st in u 14 1500m race with a time of 5.40.24). Dearbhla Gleeson came 3rd  in the long jump (3.87), Niamh Cleere 4th (3.66), Róisín Wall 5th (3.53), Emma Delaney 7th (2.70) and Kate Delaney 8th (2.55) in the same competition. Sarah McGinley was 1st in the shot put competition with a throw of 7.34mts. .

Gráinne O’Loughlin represented the club in the girls u15 level coming 2nd in the 200m (33.37) and 6th in the long jump (3.28).  Jack Flanagan led home the boys u15 800m race coming 1st in 2.25.77, followed by Adam Spillane Leane in 3rd (2.40.22) and Adam Phelan just outside the medals in 4th (3.02.67). Jack Flanagan was also 1st in the u15 long jump with a leap of 4.70mts.

Aisling O’Loughlin was the only club member competing at u16 level. She came 1st in the 100m (14.88) and 2nd in the long jump (3.86).
