Thurles was the venue on Sunday last the 3rd of November for the County Juvenile Relays Cross Country Championships event and once again we had a large number of athletes taking part which saw us field 10 relay teams over the various age groups. Our Relay teams secured 5 sets of medals in total – 2 sets of Silver which were won by our Girls U10 & U12 and 3 sets of bronze by the Boys U10, Girls U14 & U16 Mixed teams. The first event of the day was the Girls U10 – Rachel Cleary, Aoife Dwyer, Victoria Lupton & Louise Hickey finished 2nd and Tara Gleeson, Helen Cleere, Ava Ryan & Anna Daly were 7th. Boys U10 Philip Hayes, Aaron McLoughlin, Jake Bowe & David Ryan finished 3rd and Adam Butler, Diarmuid Campion, Ethan Power & Blake Power were 10th. Girls U12 Rachel Butler, Katie Bergin, Emma Gleeson & Aisling Dwyer finished 2nd and Cathy Hogan, Shannon Boland, Aisling Hickey & Aine Duggan were 11th. Boys U12 Charlie Tobin, Ciaran Lloyd, Dylan McLoughlin & Jack Lupton finished 4th. Girls U14 Rosin Daly, Niamh Ryan, Lorna Hayes & Laura Daly finished 3rd. Boys U14 Jack Hickey, Sean Burke, Patrick Campion & Bill Hogan finished 4th. Mixed U16 Aidan Ryan, Eoin Troy, Katie Tobin & Erica Carroll finished 3rd. Well done to all our Juvenile athletes and their trainers.
The results of the Masters Cross Country Championship; In the Ladies Masters; 3rd Frances Long – 1st O/45, 4th Bridget Gleeson – 2nd O/40, 11th Breda McNamara – 3rd O/35, 12th Liz Power – 1st O/50, 14th Eileen Ryan – 1st O/55, 1st Team. They all ran great and all of them came home with a medal. In the Men Masters; 35th Patrick Bowe, 39th Ray Power, 42nd Thomas Moore, 45th Damien McDonnell. 6th Team. All our Masters put in great performances and ran well with Patrick Bowe in particular having a great run.
