The club had a very successful day in the County Juvenile B T & F Championship which took place in Moyne A.C. on Sunday May 26. A total of 29 individual medals were won on the day made up of 10 gold, 8 silver and 11 bronze!
Gold medal winners were Ella McGinley in the U9 Turbo Javelin with a throw of 8.06, Carmel McGreevy with a throw of 7.76 in the U10 Turbo Javelin and Niamh Cleere with a throw of 11.23 in the U12 Turbo Javelin. Three gold medals were also won in the Long Jump competition, in the U10 by Maria Doyle with a massive jump of 3.22, U13 Adam Phelan also with a jump of 3.22 and Cathal Guilfoyle in the U14 with a jump of 3.10. Cathal Guilfoyle also secured gold in the U14 80m, Ciara Joyce in the U10 300m, Alana Spillane in the U12 600m and Niamh Gleeson in the U10 60m.
Three silver medals were won in the Long Jump competition with Ruth Phelan jumping 2.85 in U11, Niamh Cleere 3.00 in the U12 and Paddy Cussen 1.96 in the U13. Silver medals also went to Heidi Maher in the U10 60m, Jack Guilfoyle in the U10 300m, Ruth Phelan in the U11 500m, Bill Cussen in the U12 60m and finally to Adam Phelan in the U13 80m.
Two bronze medals were won by Reiltin Morrissey U11 and Roisin Wall U12 in the turbo javelin throwing 8.30 and 7.07 respectively. Two bronze were also won in the U10 Long Jump by Heidi Maher with a jump of 3.09 and Jack Guilfoyle with a jump of 2.81. Also going home with bronze medals were Carmel McGreevy in the U10 60m, Ailis Concagh in the U10 300m, Jim O’Neill in the U11 500m, Bill Cussen in the U12 600m, Alana Spillane in the U12 60m, Paddy Cussen in the U13 80m and Alanna Maher also in the U13 80m.
Others competing on the day included Eleanor Doyle, Kate Concagh, Cathleen Cussen, Abbie Manton, Muireann Casey, Caoimhe Slevin, Caoimhe Doyle, Padraig Guilfoyle, William Morrissey, Rogan Lyons and Bill O’Neill and all won medals in the relays on the day.
