Twelve teams from the club took part in the County Cross Country Relays in Thurles on Sunday and the club came away with five sets of team medals for their great efforts over the various distances.  The Girls U/14 were crowned County Champions while the Boys U/12, Boys U/14 and mixed U/16 teams won silver with the Girls U/12 winning bronze.

One team represented the club in the Girls U/10 event with Amy Reddan, Blaithnaid Lloyd, Dearbhla Ryan and Maebh Leahy finishing 7th overall in a tough competition.  Clodagh Gleeson ran on a mixed club team to finish 9th overall.  Three teams went to the line for the Boys U/10 and in another very competitive race they finished 7th, 9th and 10th respectively.  The teams were Ethan Walsh, David Doyle, Cormac Burke, Adam Phelan, Fred Power, Jack Flanagan, Adam Spillane-Leane, Cody Doyle, Frank Doyle, Jack Gleeson, Declan Teehan and Oisin O’Gorman.

The club also had three teams competing in the Girls U/12 event and following a great competition the team of Aoife Dwyer, Victoria Lupton, Helen Cleere and Louise Hickey came through to take the third spot.  Finishing 7th were Tara Gleeson, Millie Doyle-Ryan, Ava Ryan and Leona Maher while the team of Anna Daly, Eva Cornally, Lucy Doyle and Mia O’Dwyer finished 11th overall.  Two teams represented the club in the Boys U/12 competition and winning the silver medals again following a tough competition was the team of Philip Hayes, Aaron McLoughlin, Adam Butler and Jake Bowe while the team of Brian Campion, Kian Dunne, Liam Ryan and Aaron Moore came through to take 7th place.

With only one team in the Girls U/14 event Katie Bergin, Emma Gleeson, Cathy Hogan and Aisling Dwyer put in a powerful performance to capture the gold medals while in the Boys event we also had one team and what a performance Dylan McLoughlin produced on the last leg to bring the Boys into the silver medals.  On the team with Dylan were Charlie Tobin, Gavin Ryan and Cormac Moloney.

Our final team were the U/16 mixed team of Roisin Daly, Niamh Ryan, Nathan Bowe and Jack Hickey and they also produced the goods with some great running to finish second overall and the silver medals.
