Meet & Train


The Mens’ Meet and Train Group gets together three times per week at the sportsfield.  The members are mixed in age and ability.  The group meets at the following times:  

Monday:        7.30pm – 8.30pm
Wednesday:  7.30pm – 8.30pm

Weekend:      By arrangement of the members 


The Ladies’ Meet and Train Group meets three times each week.  The group is made up of women of all ages and abilities and has proven to be very popular.  The group meets at the following times:

Monday:          7.30pm – 8.30pm
Wednesday:   7.30pm – 8.30pm

Saturday:        by arrangement of group members

Each night the group trains at the sports field.  Each member uses their own training schedule if they so wish.

On Wednesday the group is coached by one of the clubs senior coaches, John Flynn.  This session focuses on athletes building speed.  Everyone works to their own ability and this evening is always fun and very rewarding.

On Saturday (usually in the morning) the group runs a local route.  The route is usually decided on the day and can range from a short 3km route through Moyne Village and back to the club house, the 5km “Burma” route or a longer 7km or 10km route if people are preparing for a particular event.  Don’t let the distance put you off – the group is a mix of walkers, joggers, runners and people who do all three!!

Whatever the weather, someone will be there.  The only things that will stop us are lightning and (possibly) icy conditions.  We do prefer a dry, cool evening, but light drizzle, or even lashing rain, will not stop us!!
