County Novice B Road Championships

Templemore was the venue on Wednesday 14th July for the running of the County Novice B Road Championships and in a warm, humid evening our five athletes gave excellent performances and none better than Sharon Cantwell who led the field of 14 athletes home, following a gun to tape front running effort, to be crowned the 2021 County Novice B Road Champion in a time of 11.42.    Aisling Maher was our other lady to compete on the night and she also put in a huge effort to finish third in 11.59 with plenty of daylight between herself and the rest of the field of athletes.  With 44 men taking part our three athletes faced very stiff competition but this did not faze them as Brian Carroll crossed the line in 17th in 23.31, Pakie Bowe 18th in 23.35 and John Renehan 30th in 25.06.  These placings saw the club finish 9th out of the 13 teams in action.  Well done everyone.
