Munster Master Cross Country Championships
Just two athletes travelled the long distance to Beaufort, Co. Kerry on Sunday, November 17, to compete in the master’s Cross-Country Championships. Angela Fogarty took on the ladies’ field over 4k and following a very fast paced race finished an excellent 14th overall and 7th in her age category. Pakie Bowe had an equally fast race but ran the longer distance of 7k and again produced a fine performance to finish 55th overall and 11th in his age category. Well done to both and thanks to all those who travelled in support of these two athletes.
National Juvenile Even-Age Cross Country Championships
We wish David Doyle the very best of luck as he competes on the Tipperary U/14 team at the National Juvenile Even Age Cross Country Championships in Dublin on Sunday next.
Club Meeting
The next club meeting will take place this coming Thursday night at 8.30pm. All officers and committee are asked to attend.
Parents Information Evening
The club have organised a parents’ information evening for Friday night next, November 22 at 7.40pm and again for the following Tuesday night, November 22 for those unable to make it on Friday. An information sheet will be distributed on the night and we are encouraging all parents of juvenile athletes to make a special effort to attend.
Upcoming Juvenile Cross-Country Fixtures
The Munster Juvenile B Cross Country Championship is the next fixture on the horizon – Sunday, December 01 in Middlepiece, Two-Mile-Borris. All athletes who competed in Limerick Racecourse and Conna are eligible to compete in this event. Parents are asked to let Geraldine know this week if they wish their child/children to be entered.
The County Juvenile B Cross Country Championships take place on Sunday December 08 and is a home fixture for our athletes. Those who competed in the County Championships in Newport and Moyglass and who did not win a medal on either of those days are eligible to run. Again, Geraldine is asking parents to let her know if she is to enter your child/children. Our thanks to the Daly families for facilitating the event on their land and anyone who has time on their hands on the day, we would welcome your help.
New York Run
On a recent family trip to the United States, Aisling Maher took the opportunity to run part of the course for the New York Marathon. The 5k event takes place the day before the actual marathon and Aisling proudly wore the colours of Moyne AC as she raced around the course to finish in 22.30 and was one of the top Irish finishers at the event. Well done Aisling.
