County 10 Mile Road Championship

Sharon Cantwell was our only club representative at the County 10 Mile Road Championships in Galbally on Sunday and despite the distance involved she gave it her all to finish 5th lady in a fantastic time of 71.53.  Congratulations Sharon.

Pastures New

The club wishes both Jack Hickey and Lorraine Healy the very best in their future athletic careers as they depart the club for Nenagh Olympic and Crusaders Athletic Clubs respectively.  Both athletes have been long associated with the club and have been part of many individual and team successes throughout their careers to date.  No doubt they will continue this success with their new clubs.

Training

All athletes should now be actively engaged in training in anticipation of the first cross country race of the season in Newport on Sunday 3rd October.  On that day the County Even Age Juvenile and Novice Championships take place, and it is hoped to have a good representative of club athletes in all events.

Split the Bucket!

The winner of the Split the Bucket for Friday 10th September was Marian Ely, Castletown. The draw takes place each Friday night at 8.30pm with several options available – 3 entries for €5, 12 entries for €20 (includes 2 additional free weeks), 28 entries for €50 (includes 3 additional free weeks).  Cut off for on-line is on Thursday evening at 6pm and any entries received after this time will be included in the next week’s draw.  Your support for this venture is very much appreciated.  Log on to our website www.moyneathleticclub.com for all the details.
