County Juvenile Track & Field Championships

The U/9 to U/12 County Track & Field Championships take place in Templemore this coming Saturday with the U/13 to U/19 competition taking place on Sunday. Just over 50 athletes will represent the club and we wish all competitors the very best of luck. Competing are Lily Murphy, Annie Ely, Orlaith Costigan, Meadhb Hall, Owen Meade, Poppy Lyons, Eve Maher, Doireann Quinlan, Anna Concagh, Zach Ryan, Leo Cullen, Cian Kelly, Daniel Delaney, Geoffrey Morrissey, Matthew Esmonde, Darragh Maher, Fionn Phelan, Senan Phelan, Caoimhe Doyle, Abbie Manton, Faye Murphy, Cathal O’Reilly, William Morrissey, Ella McGinley, Gerard Delaney, Billy Flanagan, Roisin O’Reilly, Olive Spillane Leane, Ciara Joyce, Heidi Maher, Caoimhe Slevin, Niamh Gleeson, Maria Doyle, David Nolan, Noah Murphy, Aisling O’Reilly, Ruth Phelan, Eleanor Doyle, Reiltin Morrissey, Alan Spillane, Emma Delaney, Niamh Cleere, Kate Delaney, Dearbhla Gleeson, Ellen Nolan, Sarah McGinley, Jack Flanagan, Adam Spillane-Leane, Adam Phelan, Leona Maher, Michael O’Mahony. The programme on Saturday gets underway at 11am with the Field Events and 11.30am with the track events and on Sunday with the Field Vents at 10am and the track events at 11am.

St. Abban’s Open Sports

A number of our young athletes travelled to the St. Abban’s Open Sports on Monday last 2nd May and all did the club proud by their performances. Orla Campion ran U/8 and finished 5th in the 300mts final and 7th in her heat of the 60mts. Annie Ely finished 5th in the final of the U/9 300mts and also finished 8th in her heat of the 60mts. Lily Murphy collected two medals, finishing 2nd in the U/9 60mts and 3rd in the 300mts. Meadhb Hall finished 6th in both the final of the 60mts U/9 and 300mts. Kathleen Cussen finished sixth in her heat of the Girls U/11 60mts and also competed in the Long Jump. Faye Murphy also collected silverware having finished 2nd in the U/11 Long Jump and 3rd in the 60mts final. Eva Maher finished 8th in the final of the U/10 60mts and also placed 8th in the final of the 300mts. Doireann Quinlan finished 10th in the final of the U/10 60mts and 7th in the final of the 300mts. Senan and Fionn Phelan finished 7th and 12th in the U/10 300mts while Daithí Cussen finished 7th in his heat of the 80mts and also competed in the Long Jump. Ruth & Adam Phelan ran in the U/14 and U/16 700mts respectively while success came again for the club in the relays with the Girls U/9 team of Orla Campion, Annie Ely, Lily Murphy and Meadhb Hall winning and the U/11 team of Doireann Quinlan, Eva Maher, Kathleen Cussen and Faye Murphy finishing 3rd. Well done everyone and thanks to the parents and coaches who supported on the day.

Moyne AC 5k Road Race

A reminder to all that our 5k road race takes place on Wednesday June 8th, 2022, at 7.30pm. Pop Up Races will be facilitating the event and entries can be made through their website www.popupraces.ie.  Entry fee is €15 (plus booking fee). Prize money for the first three men and women and prizes for category winners at O/40, O/50, and O/60. AAI permit approved. Refreshments served afterwards. We would love to welcome you all to what promises to be a very enjoyable evening of running.

Moyne AC Summer Games

The Summer Games for 2022 will take place on Saturday 11th June with an 11am start. Programme will include races at 100mts, 200mts, 400mts, 800mts, 1 mile and 3k provided there is enough entries. Event is open to all athletes from 16 years of age and older – athletes must be sixteen by the end of 2022 to compete. More details to follow.

Split the Bucket!

The winner of the Split the Bucket for 6th May was Olga Doyle, Kylemakill. Winning amount €144. Envelopes are available at all training sessions and in Quinlan’s Pub, Moyne.
