County B Championships
The sun was shining down on the Middlepiece on Sunday afternoon for the County B Championships. The club had a great day where our athletes applied themselves very well throughout the day. We had a number of individual success along with team and credit to all who tried their best on the day! Support was aplenty and there was great excitement in the girls U13 race where Caoimhe Slevin took her first victory! A day to remember for this hard working athlete. She just had a narrow edge over her bestie, Muireann Casey who was a close 2nd. Abbie Delaney was 3rd, giving the club a clean sweep in this race. It was wonderful to watch and well deserved by all 3 girls. Success also came the way in the boys U11 race where Darragh Maher took the win impressively, with Senan Phelan coming home in 3rd place. Fionn Phelan also had a good run to finish 6th in the race. The boys combined to win the team title too! Jack Renehan was also on the podium where he had a good run to finish in 3rd in the Boys U15.
Our Novice athletes too had a successful day. Edel Delaney had a great run to finish a gallant 2nd in a tough fought contest in the women’s 3k. Lisa Quinlan showed great determination to get up for 3rd spot and Aisling Maher was not far away in 7th. The girls came away clear winners of the Novice B team cup! Equally, the men had super runs in the 6k, the last race of the day. It was great race to watch with many battles unfolding throughout the field. Our eyes were drawn to Harry Hogan, as he worked his way barefoot through the field after the first 2k and moving well. Coming down the last 1500m it looked the Harry was eyeing up the leader, but the gap would be extremely difficult to close despite the huge ground covered by Harry. In the end, he crossed the line in an excellent 2nd. A run that bodes well for the future! Well done Harry, great progression thus far this season. Harrys team mates too ran really well, Brendan Delaney showed consistency and ran well to finish 7th. John Renehan too ran very well to finish in 13th and Patrick Bowe was the 4th over the line in 16th. Well done to all the men as they finished 3rd in the men’s team event! Well deserved!! Congratulations to all.
Below are the athletes results who competed in the Turnpike, credit to all of them and thank you for their efforts this XC season so far! We look forward to the Munster un-even’s in the Turnpike on Sunday, best of luck to all representing the club.

Training continues most evenings and as always you are welcome to join! We are looking forward to the indoor and road seasons which are not too far away. If this is something you are interested in doing, why not get in touch.
Split the Bucket continues weekly too and we are so appreciative from our patrons. This money flow is so important for our club as we look at maintaining and developing our club facilities. This weeks winner was Evelyn Cornally who was in receipt of €109.
Access to facilities
Great work and effort was done in the recent weeks by some committee members in making our club more accessible to its valued members. A fob system has been installed which is very much welcomed by all which will assist in athlete development and training in particular the winter months. Current club members can contact a committee member directly to learn how to gain access to clubhouse etc. and its terms and conditions.
