County Masters Cross Country Championships
The above Championships were held in Thurles prior to Christmas with the club being represented by Sinead Tynan in the Ladies event and Brian Carroll in the Men’s event. Both athletes ran very steady races with Sinead finishing 10th overall from a field of over 22 athletes to claim the County M50 title. Congratulations Sinead. Brian finished 34th overall from a field of over 50 athletes and 13th in his category. Well done, Brian.
Clonmel 4 Mile Road Race
Several club members recently ran the Clonmel 4 Mile Road race. Pakie Bowe was the first member home in a time of 25.54, followed by Sinead Tynan in 28.16 and Frances Long 32.22. Well done all.
Christmas Morning Charity Mile
Many thanks to all who turned out on Christmas Day for our annual charity mile. This year’s recipient is Moyne Community Café and Shop and thanks to all who contributed, a donation of €1,450 will be presented to the committee.
Committee Meeting
The club will hold a committee meeting on Wednesday 5th January at 8.30pm. Meeting will take place via Zoom and all members are encouraged to attend.
Split the Bucket!
The winner of the Split the Bucket for Friday 31st December was Ciara Joyce. Winning amount €87. On-line options are available on our website www.moyneathleticclub.com and tickets can also be purchased in Quinlan’s, Moyne. Thanks to all who continue to support each week.
County Indoor Track & Field Championships
The County Senior & Masters Indoor Track & Field Championships are due to take place on Sunday 16th January at 11am in the Nenagh Olympic Indoor Arena. The provisional timetable is currently available on the Tipperary Athletics website – www.tipperaryathletics.com – and any athlete who is interested in competing in this event should forward their entry to club competition secretary Geraldine Hickey. Athletes must also be registered for 2022 to compete in this event. Please contact Michelle Percy as soon as possible to have your registration complete prior to entry.
