Moyne Athletic Club notes 24.6.2018

Holy Family Templetouhy NS. 5k Fun Run/Walk

A great evening was had in Templetouhy last Friday. Moyne AC won best club on the night and we had a great turn-out supporting our local primary school. Moyne AC saw Stephen Flanagan and Liam Kelly place 1st and 2nd in the 5k and Nathan Bowe was 1st juvenile and 9th overall in the event.  Moyne AC represented themselves very well in this event and well done to everyone who went out to support this great cause.

Thurles Crokes Annual Dave Fogarty Memorial 4 Miler

The annual Dave Fogarty Memorial run took place on Tuesday last and Francis Long and Patrick Bowe took part in this run. Patrick placed in 22nd position in 25:17 and Frances finished in 61st position in 30:45. Well done to both athletes.

Tailteann Games 2018

Congratulations must go to Aaron McLaughlin who competed in the Irish Life Inter-provincial Games on Saturday last in Santry. He was selected to represent Munster in the U17 3km walk. It was Aaron’s first time to compete at this distance where he finished 7th in a time of 18.46. This experience will, undoubtedly, stand to him in future races. Well done.

National League Round 1. Templemore

The first round of the national league took place in Templemore this weekend and Tipperary had a team in both the male and female premier division.  We saw three athletes complete in this event. Kate Harrison ran the 4x100m relay and they placed in 4th place in a time of 52.21. Kate also guested in the 200m with a time of 29.75 along with Katie Bergin in 28:02. Sharon Cantwell had a great run guesting in the 1500m running a PB in 5:40. Well done to the three athletes.
