Cross Country Championships commence on the 27th of September with the County Primary Schools Championships in Thurles Crokes. We expect all our juveniles to be in attendance at this event as often silverware is plentiful for our athletes. Good luck to them all. on Sunday 1st of October, it marks the beginning of the Club Championships. Our friends in MooreAbbey will host the even ages and Novice County Championships in Galbally, on the foot of the Galtee’s a spectacular venue for cross country. We hope to have a large turnout from the club and reminder patrons to have their entries given to Ber Spillane ASAP and advise your coach if you are running so that teams can be arranged. The following week (8th of October) the club will host the uneven ages and intermediate XC at the Castle Field. This follows on from last weekends success, again we expect a good turnout from the club. Best of luck to all our athletes this coming season and we hope you have much success and enjoyable days.

Patrick Bowe raced in the Boston Scientific Half Marathon last Saturday (16th September), hosted by Clonmel AC. This race was plan B as Pakie returned ill from Budapest and could not take his place on the start line for the Dingle Marathon a couple of weeks ago.  However, he has rallied and toed the line last Saturday where he finished 60th overall in a time  of 1:36.14. Congratulations to him on his achievements and flying the flag for the club on the road scene!
