Munster Juvenile Indoor Championship
The Munster U/13 to U/19 Indoor championships were held in Nenagh Indoor stadium last weekend. The championships which took place over two days saw many wonderful young athletes participate from various clubs in Munster.
On Saturday, February 24th, Seán Burke ran in the 400m U/18 in 1:02.53 earning him gold in that category. Dylan McLaughlin ran a tough race to win a bronze medal in the U/16 1500m in 4:46.48. Katie Bergin finished 5th in the 60m in 8.71 and 8th in the 200m in 28.81 in the Girls U/17 category. Also competing in this age group was Shannon Boland who finished 9th in the 60m in 10.77 and 13th in 200m in 33.90. On Sunday, February 25th, Dylan McLaughlin was back in action competing in the U/17 800m finishing 7th in 2:24.11. In the Boys U/18, Jack Hickey finished 5th in the 200m in 25.01 and 7th in the 60m in 7.68. Aaron McLaughlin finished 14th in U/14 800m in 2:46.68. Katie Bergin was also back in action in the U/17 Long Jump where she finished 5th with a jump of 4.55m. In the Boys U/13, Cormac Burke ran in the 600m in a time of 2:26.50 and he also finished 13th in the Shot Put (2Kg) throwing 5.55m. Louise Hickey and Tara Gleeson were both competing in the Girls U/14 Shot Put (2Kg) where Louise finished 8th throwing 7.90m and Tara finished 15th throwing 6.35m.
Well done to all athletes who participated as they did both themselves and the club proud in tough competition.
Templemore Fit4Life 4 mile trail run
Congratulations to Martin Kiely and Sharon Kiely for completing the Templemore Fit4Life trail run, with the two crossing the line in a time of 29.29. Well done to everyone who participated.
Leinster Senior Indoor Championship
Congratulations to Sarah Healy, who guested in the Leinster Senior Indoor Championship this week. She had a great run in the 400m to run a PB; Well Done Sarah.
