Munster XC Relay Championships – St. Flannan’s Clare

On Saturday 9th of December, the club had two juvenile teams representing the green and gold at these championships. Following a very enjoyable XC season to date with much success along the way our girls under 10 team of Annie Ely, Aoibheann Doyle, Lily Murphy and Meadhbh Hall were hoping to end the campaign on a high and they duly obliged! All four girls put in terrific efforts in each leg of the 4x500m relay in very blustery conditions in Clare and to their delight, were rewarded with a podium finish in 3rd place in a very good time of 9 minutes flat! Congratulations to them!

The U14 team of Abbie Delaney, Caoimhe Slevin, Muireann Casey and Helen Renehan were also in action and they too performed very well to finish a very credible fourth at this level. A brilliant achievement and plenty to look forward to in the New Year.

Christmas Morning Mile – takes place from 10:30am – 12 noon. This annual tradition is a great opportunity for friends and family to get together for some exercise Christmas morning all in aid of a two very good causes. This year the club are collecting donations for Blood Bike Mid West and Moyne Templetuohy Parish Newsletter group.

Blood Bike Mid West is an all-volunteer charitable 24 -7 emergency transport service who have been transporting laboratory samples, breastmilk, drugs and much more to, from and between acute hospitals in Limerick, Clare and Tipperary since 2013 and currently has a team of over 40 volunteer riders, operating in the region.

Our parish newsletter group reached out looking for our support in helping them raise much-needed funds to keep the annual newsletter alive. With the current climate, the cost of producing this much loved and appreciated publication is becoming increasingly difficult.

Your support in assisting both these causes on Christmas morning is welcomed. So why not come down to Moyne AC and walk, jog, crawl or run a mile and relish that feel-good factor! A donation bucket will be in the clubhouse for anyone to pop by to say hello. We thank you in advance for your generosity.

Lights on! – The club will have lights for the winter months on Tuesdays (5:30pm – 6:30pm) and Thursdays (6:30pm – 7:30pm) for patrons to use the facility to exercise in a safe place. All are welcome to come to the track and we just gently reminder users to put €2 in the honesty box when they visit the track. Unfortunately, no dogs are permitted on the grounds.

75th Anniversary Club Calendar – Copies of the 2024 club calendar are available for sale at the cost of €10 each.

Split the Bucket – Well done to Evelyn Cornally who won this weeks split the bucket. Prize pit was €126. Thanks for your continued support. Tickets can be bought in Quinlans, Tighe Maighne on our website or Tuesday/Friday nights at club training.
