History was made on Sunday when the club had its first representative compete at national level since the formation of the AAI.  Over 20 years has passed since we have seen an athlete compete at this level and Lorraine Healy has broken that duct following a terrific performance on Sunday at the Novice Championship in Dundalk IT.  Over 130 athletes faced the starter and though the pace was hot and never let up for the entire duration Lorraine showed great determination over the undulating terrain to come through the field for 59th place in a time of 16.33.  The race showcased the quality of athletes at our disposal in Ireland and its’ great to say that Lorraine mixed it with the best and came out a true winner in our eyes.  Well done Lorraine on a great performance.  Congratulations also to Jacqueline Hughes, Thurles Crokes, the only other County athletes on the day, on her performance at the event.
