Moyne AC League Final
Friday evening saw the final night of the highly successful Moyne AC Track and Field League. The teams remained the same as previous nights; four teams of five competed over three nights. Over the course of the three nights we had members of each team compete in over forty one events, set PBs and attain 52,233 points in total. Moyne (Aisling Maher, Orla Healy, Brigid Gleeson, Katie Bergin & Patricia Ryan) were crowned champions the a total of 13,568 points. Only 162 points separated Moyne from Galmoy (Adrian McGinley, Edel Delaney, Susan Fogarty, Ray Power and Sean Bourke) who finished in 2nd position. 3rd place went to Crosspatrick with a total of 12,954 points (Angela Fogarty, Ber Spillane, Sarah Healy, Shannon Boland and Michelle Percy). 4th overall went to Templetouhy (Liz Power, Kate Harrison, Sharon Cantwell, Emma Gleeson, Caoilinn Smith and Aisling O’ Dwyer) with a points total of 12,305 points. Well done to everyone who competed and a big thank you to everyone who organised such an enjoyable event.
Moyne Mini Marathon 10k and 5k walk
Preparation is underway for our 9th Mini Marathon which will take place on Monday the 4th of June. This annual road race attracts athletes from all over the country and we hope that this year will be no different. The 10k race will be held over the now very familiar Killoran route, with a 5k option for families and walkers. This race has seen fast times and heated battles over the years and last year we saw Sharon Cleere impressively win the ladies event with Kevin Maunsell winning the men’s event and setting a new track record of 31:49. While the Mini Marathon offers a competitive aspect, the Mini Marathon is also an ideal opportunity to challenge yourself and enjoy running on a local route with friends and family. Registration will start at 10 am. Registration costs €15 and prize money will be awarded to the first three male and female athletes home. For further details on this event please contact John on (086)8403515.

The final night is often seen to have an effect on the overall results so Wednesday evening should be a very interesting night for all involved.
