While it might have been April Fool’s day the 60 juvenile members who took part in the 1K Fun Run and Egg and Spoon Races certainly did not joke around with a competitive streak sneaking in to both events. From the age of 8 to 16 we had 32 members who took part in the 1K fun run and all finished within two minutes of each other. Dylan McLoughlin set the pace for everyone and it was only at the half way stage when Nathan Bowe took over the lead which he held to the end to finish in a time of 3.05. Dylan came through for second in 3.09 with Philip Hayes third in 3.26. Fourth place went to Aaron McLoughin in 3.33 with the first girl home Roisin Daly finishing fifth in 3.42 followed by Emma Gleeson sixth in 3.49. Full results here: 2016_1K Juvenile Fun Run

Sincere thanks to everyone for getting behind this event and particularly the parents for their show of support for the children and indeed for their excellent donations of confectionary which were thoroughly enjoyed by the children.
